Last night, A was admitted to the hospital after nearly dying. I was trying to coordinate assistance for her from 700 miles away as she stubbornly resisted help. I don't recall ever being so afraid for another person's life, while also trying to manage getting help to watch her kids and get transport to the hospital from a nasty cab-driver while A wouldn't call an ambulance. As the sun rose, I had precious little sleep and nothing but worries.

CDs listened to today:

  • Zbigniew Bujarski: Quartet for a House-Warming
  • Howard Hanson: Symphony No. 1
  • KMFDM: Naïve
  • Hold Steady: Separation Sunday
  • Nikolai Lopatnikoff: Concerto for Wind Orchestra
  • Fats Navarro: The Fats Navarro Story, disk 1
  • Pascal Dusapin: a quia, disk 1
